What SurveillanceLab collects, why, and what you can ask for. It is handled in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What is collected
Your account: the email and sign-in details you give Clerk, which runs sign-in. Your settings, watchlists and Pro-access status, kept with your account.
What you send: feedback, Pro-access and contributor requests (with the email, and for contributors the payer name or ID you add and, for a UPI payment, its 12-digit UPI reference (UTR), amount and date), sent to the owner by email. Never send card numbers, bank account numbers, PINs or OTPs.
Visits: a self-hosted analytics script counts page views and broad device data, with no advertising trackers. The server keeps short-lived request data (such as the IP address) to stop abuse and enforce rate limits.
In your browser: preferences such as theme, tabs and chart view, kept in local storage on your device.
Why
To sign you in, keep your settings, decide and run Pro access, answer your messages, keep the site working and safe, and understand which pages are used. Your data is never sold, and it is not used for advertising.
Who processes it
Clerk (sign-in), the email service that delivers your messages to the owner, and the site's own hosting and analytics. Payments are made with the payment service you choose (UPI, GitHub Sponsors, Buy Me a Coffee); the site does not receive or store card or bank details.
How long, and your choices
Account data is kept while you have an account; messages as long as needed to answer and keep a record. UPI payment details (UTR, amount, date) are deleted from the owner's mailbox within 30 days of deciding the contributor request. You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or close your account, through Feedback in the footer.
